The area surrounding Vicary-Racehorse has a history of hard coking coal exports, owing to its exceptional coal quality and economic seam geometries.

The Vicary-Racehorse Property is located approximately 20 km north of the town of Coleman and consists of Alberta Crown Coal Mineral Leases and Alberta Freehold coal lands. Two coal seams of commercial medium volatile bituminous coal have been identified.

Coal quality and metallurgical testing work is currently being performed on this property. Preliminary results are indicative of a quality equal to or better than that of Tent Mountain. The Vicary-Racehorse region historically contracted 1.5 million tonnes of clean hard coking coal to the Japanese Steel mills.
